Clash of Clans update silence sparks calls for better communication

Clash of Clans players expecting the April 2024 update have been met with silence and are now left wondering when the new patch will drop.

If you’re like me and most Clash of Clans players who are extremely dedicated to making the most out of our attacks and builder timing, it is a big deal whenever an update drops.

Amidst the excitement of trying the new pet, Angry Jelly, most CoC players also want their village to be busy whenever a maintenance break is ongoing. However, the lack of communication from Supercell has left many Clash of Clans players feeling upset and frustrated, especially since they were anticipating the game’s next update to drop on April 16.

While fans are not wrong to assume a time and date of the update drop, Supercell does not usually announce when Clash of Clans will be getting its newest patch.

This is similar to how it goes for their other blockbuster game, Brawl Stars, where players also don’t get a clear picture of when to expect updates and maintenance breaks.

Some Clash of Clans players even took their frustration to Reddit and pleaded for developers to communicate and be transparent about update schedules.

Players clarified the need for transparency in update schedules, as their bases often become a “dream” for looters while waiting for the new defense tower upgrades and troop levels.

Personally, I also find updated schedule announcements helpful when our clan is currently having a clan war. I have experienced setting my last attack aside for a last-minute assault, only for the War to be lost due to an emergency update.

Supercell is known for listening to and meeting its players’ demands. Most recently, Clash of Clans devs put a hold on releasing new Hero Equipment monthly due to widespread player demand.

As of this writing, the April 2024 update has not been announced, nor is it underway.
