5. Kayle
Kayle may not be what comes into your mind at first when thinking of champions that dominate the top lane, but this mage is made to conquer many things!
Kayle’s real power is in the late game. Her ultimate provides invulnerability to herself or an ally, while her passive transforms her into a ranged, wave-clearing monster with amazing attack speed and damage. Kayle is capable of carrying teamfights on her alone in the late game.
4. Olaf
Olaf isn’t just a damage dealer; he’s surprisingly tanky too. With his current 51% win rating on a 2% pick rate, you know that he’s the real deal in the current patch. He’s another Champion who benefits from the mobility and the extra damage from the Stridebreaker. Other item options include Sundered Sky, Sterak’s Gage, or even an Experimental Hexplate for low ultimate cooldowns.
3. Cassiopeia
Unlike most top laners who are mighty melee fighters, Cassiopeia boasts superior range with her ranged abilities. This allows her to poke enemies from afar, farming safely and poking them down without the danger of getting caught. She is an excellent counter-pick for popular top lane Champions like Darius, Sett, and Garen.
When it comes to items, you’ll want to focus on items that enhance her damage output and survivability. Rod of Ages is a solid choice, giving her a hefty chunk of health, mana, and ability power.
2. Sett
This guy is here to rule the lane and win deals like a pro, not to play patty-cake. Pit Grit, his passive, makes it difficult to defeat him in prolonged battles. This passive gives him an enormous shield that depends on his maximum health each time he lands an attack.
Sett for the Top Lane is often run with Conquerer and Resolve runes. Meanwhile, Stridebreaker remains his most popular first item during this patch due to its mix of mobility and extra physical damage.
1. Camille
First, Camille’s kit is just downright versatile and deadly in the top lane. Her mobility is off the charts thanks to her Hookshot, which allows her to easily engage or escape. Camille’s Adaptive Defenses (Passive) give her a shield and bonus movement speed whenever she lands a basic attack, making her surprisingly tanky amid battle.
Some of her best items include Trinity Force, Ravenous Hydra for Life Steal, and Sundered Sky for more survivability.
