Wuthering Waves leaks reveal Ultimate updates, but some fans are unhappy for one reason.
Wuthering Waves is an upcoming free-to-play action role-playing gacha game (ARPG) developed by Kuro Games, the same creator behind Punishing: Gray Raven. The game will be released on May 22, 2024, for PC, iOS, Android, and Epic Games Store.
Players awake as the Rover (male or female) and have the opportunity to explore the game’s vast lands. It is set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic open world, and players meet various characters throughout their journey who can become part of the team.
These characters can be played and have their own abilities, skills, and ultimates. A leak from X recently showed the new SFX and VFX for three characters, but fans were still unhappy.
Lingyang animation
Jianxin animation
Calcharo animation
The animations for Lingyang, Jianxin, and Calcharo’s Ultimates look amazing but wouldn’t look any different if you don’t pay close attention to the details. The drastic and most noticeable would be Lingyang’s, with the change in background.
The lighting on all three animations was also enhanced, and Calcharo’s eyes and head mark also light up now. Sound effects were also added to match the animations.
While the animations look amazing, and the lighting definitely enhances the ultimates, Wuthering Waves fans were still unhappy with Lingyang’s voice. An X user asked what happened to Lingyang’s voice, and another explained that it was always like that but believed everyone agreed that devs would need to change it because “it’s just bad.”
Fans hoped the dev team would change the voice to be more similar to the Chinese voiceover. Browsing through the other replies, it seems that many of the gamers share the same sentiment.
Wuthering Waves fans would have to wait until further updates or leaks if Lingyang’s voice would be replaced. Other than that, the changes to the Ultimates are stunning and I’m personally looking forward to trying out the game for myself in the future!
