Honkai: Star Rail reveals Boothill as new Hunt 5-Star character

Priya Raman ·March 15, 2024

Honkai: Star Rail unveils Boothill as the newest 5-Star Physical Hunt character, possibly in the 2.2 update.

Honkai: Star Rail is a strategy turn-based role-playing game developed by miHoYo and published globally by HoYoverse. The same creators created Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd. The game offers a rich, immersive storyline and interesting characters.

The last version 2.0 update introduced players to the new planet Penacony, which continued the main storyline. They were also introduced to new characters such as Black Swan, Aventurine, Acheron, Sparkle, Sam, Firefly, and Robin.

On March 12, many Honkai: Star Rail fans became excited when the official X account dropped the drip marketing for Robin. During the storyline, players were fond and familiar with the character. In contrast, a new character’s drip marketing dropped the next day, and players barely knew who this was.

“So, here’s the thing: someone went and tinkered with my Synesthesia Beacon, so now, all you folks can hear is me and those adorable little troublemakers talkin’ like this… cutie, cutie, cutie. Looky here, see?”

On March 13, the official Honkai: Star Rail X account released the poster for Boothill, the new 5-Star Physical Hunt character. The community had mixed reactions to this announcement, as many anticipated characters they encountered in the Penacony storyline, such as Firefly and Sam.

Boothill is a cyborg cowboy who is extremely optimistic and unrestrained. He is a member of the Galaxy Rangers, the same faction which Acheron is supposedly a part of, and wishes to take revenge on the Interastral Peace Corporation (IPC).

Players have yet to encounter the said character which led to their confusion, but there is speculation that Boothill may be the stowaway that Gallagher sought during the main storyline.
