Helldivers 2 finally ramps up server capacity but devs admit it’s still not enough

Marcus Thorne ·February 23, 2024

Helldivers 2 has increased its player capacity to address issues regarding the game’s queuing system, but devs admit it may not be enough.

Helldivers 2’s surging popularity led to the game quickly reaching maximum server capacity. The result was that many players were struggling to even load into the game and were event prompted to demand refunds.

In response, the team at Arrowhead Game Studios revealed that they’ve now pushed server improvements, raising the maximum concurrent user count to 700,000.

Unfortunately for players, however, even the developers admit that the figure might not be enough — especially in the face of what could be a busy weekend for Helldivers 2.

“the team have updated the max CCU cap to 700,000,” Helldivers 2 developers stated. “Unfortunately, the team expect the CCU to reach that level. the team believe that the wait times will be much more bearable though”.

Though the devs admit that the new max CCU may still reach its total capacity, fans have nothing but praise the Helldivers 2’s developer for providing a solution for the problem as quickly as they can.

“Hats off to the guys working on this. They’ve really been working hard on improving this, and updating the CCU to 700,000 is a massive improvement”, one Helldivers 2 fan shared in response.

“With a team of FOUR folks working on this. God damn they’re MVPs,” another said.
