Stardew Valley’s “weirdly dark” train mishap leaves players shocked

A Stardew Valley player had a “weirdly dark” experience with the train, shocking other players.

Stardew Valley is a cozy farming simulation game developed by ConcernedApe (Eric Barone). It has been around since 2016 and is still receiving consistent updates, with the long-awaited 1.6 update arriving on March 19.

In the game, players inherit their grandfather’s farm, which they must care for. Players can plant the seasonal crops purchased from Pierre or Joja if they go with that route. Not only that, but they also get the chance to explore the different locations in the game.

Certain locations in the game only unlock after completing Community Center bundles, buying them through the Joja route, or just letting time pass. One of these areas is the Railroad, which unlocks after the earthquake clears the boulders in the Mountain around summer.

A Stardew Valley player was casually going to the Railroad and trying to cross the train tracks until a train passed through. The player believed that maybe if they squeezed themselves into the edge, they wouldn’t get run over, but they thought wrong.

As they became stuck between the waiting platform and the train, they could see their health go down until the screen had a tint of red.

They eventually, and thankfully, just passed out from this. They would just be sent back to Dr. Harvey and would not lead to perma-death.

One of the Reddit users replied, “I feel like Harvey is not prepared for this.” Getting stuck and run over by the train is definitely not a scratch. When in the clinic, Harvey would say, “Someone found you unconscious and battered… I had to perform an emergency surgery on you!” You would be charged 1,000g and lose an item or two.

There’s more than one way to be crushed by the train in Stardew Valley (Level Push)

The original poster added that they knew they could be hit by the train but weren’t aware they could actually be crushed between the platform and the train. They thought they had time to get to the other side, but the train was too fast for them.

Despite the cozy vibes that Stardew Valley offers its players, weirdly dark things happen as well. So make sure not to get trapped between the platform and the train, or do it on purpose since you’ll have to pay a lot!
