Stardew Valley update 1.6 release time to depend on dev’s morning coffee routine

Stardew Valley 1.6

With the 1.6 update coming soon, Stardew Valley players were wondering about the specific time when it would be released.

Stardew Valley is a farming simulation game developed by ConcernedApe, first released on February 26, 2016. Despite being almost eight years old, it’s still receiving updates, and many players still enjoy playing it.

In the game, players assume the role of farmers who inherited their grandfather’s farm. They then have the freedom to choose the activities they wish to focus on, such as fishing, caring for animals, or planting crops.

Since March 12, 2024, ConcernedApe has released patch note lines on his X account. The dev clarified that save files prior to the update will not be affected in any way, but it is recommended that players start from scratch.

What time will Stardew Valley 1.6 update go live?

ConcernedApe revealed that the update would go live on March 19, 2024. As he replied to a Stardew Valley fan, “During the day, I need to be awake and present for the update launch, and I’d like to sleep tonight.” This would be based on his timezone, which is PST.

A Reddit user previously shared that the developer is in the Pacific Timezone and guessed that 1.6 would be released around 10 to 11 a.m. Pacific or 1 to 2 p.m. Eastern, based on when the dev makes announcements and when 1.5 came out.

Fans of the game have been curious due to their excitement about the 1.6 update’s specific release date, March 19. This was why a fan asked the Stardew Valley developer on March 11 what time the update would be released.

ConcernedApe replied, “As soon as I wake up, drink a coffee, and there’s no last-minute problem, I will push the button. So if all goes well, some time in the morning. I’ll let everyone know when the time comes.”

Another Reddit user admired ConcernedApe’s routine and praised him for running his business and not letting it run him. At the same time, another contemplated whether they would buy a PC solely to play the Stardew Valley 1.6 update.

As excited as we are about the 1.6 update, ConcernedApe has not given a specific release time. At the moment, we can only wait for his official announcement. Stay tuned on Level Push for more updates on Stardew Valley!
