Sony promises more PS5 stock after ‘unprecedented’ demand for new console
As gamers welcome in the new generation of consoles, Sony has tweeted that the PlayStation 5 (PS5) is on track to be its biggest console launch ever, just two weeks after launch.
Challenges locking down one of the highly sought-after consoles have become commonplace with the supply of stock only barely keeping up with demand. Thankfully, Sony has confirmed that “more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year,” which will no doubt be a popular move as we move into the holiday season.
We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever. Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year – please stay in touch with your local retailers.

In 2013, Sony announced that it sold 2.1 million PS4 units within its first two weeks of sale. Whilst the word unprecedented has been thrown around a lot in 2020, it is clear that the PS5 is on track to compete with the companies previous powerhouses; with the PS2 and PS4 selling over 155 million and 113 million units respectively.
