Minecraft Bedrock gears up for Hardcore mode as Mojang enters bug fixing mode

Priya Raman ·February 29, 2024

Minecraft devs are preparing to add Hardcore mode in Minecraft Bedrock finally.

Minecraft, the block-building phenomenon, has captivated players around the globe with its creative and survival modes. Among its various playstyles, Hardcore mode offers an elevated level of challenge, where death means the end of your world, a feature that has been exclusive to the Java edition of the game.

The Hardcore mode’s allure lies in its brutal rule: die once, and your world becomes permanently inaccessible. This has made it a badge of honor among Minecraft’s most daring players.

However, this ultimate test of survival and skill has been notably absent from the Bedrock edition, leaving a portion of the community waiting eagerly for their turn.

The wait is now almost over, however, as the latest snapshot of Minecraft just released, so did an announcement that Minecraft developers are now planning to release Hardcore for Bedrock edition once it’s “just as smooth” as the Java edition.

However, introducing Hardcore mode to Bedrock is not without its challenges. The Bedrock edition is known for bugs that could unfairly penalize players by causing unexpected deaths. Recognizing the potential frustration of losing everything to a glitch, the Minecraft developers are proceeding with caution, dedicating themselves to thorough testing and bug fixing before the official launch.

This careful preparation underscores the developers’ commitment to ensuring that Hardcore mode on Bedrock provides a fair and enjoyable experience for all players. It’s a monumental task that highlights their dedication to the community’s desires and the game’s integrity.
