Genshin Impact’s “unique” new event has players wondering where the story is

Genshin Impact’s newest “unique” event has players looking for a story to tie to it.

Genshin Impact is an open-world action role-playing game from the same developers of Honkai: Star Rail and Honkai Impact 3rd. The game’s around three years old already since its release in September 2020.

The game allows its players to explore the world of Teyvat and its regions, such as Mondstadt and Fontaine. While exploring, some storylines sometimes could be serious, silly, and sad.

Events in Genshin Impact usually have a storyline explaining why they are happening. Despite this, the latest event, “Journey Through Hilinigmatic Terrain,” seemed to throw the players straight into its gameplay.

A Genshin Impact player believed that the “Journey Through Hilinigmatic Terrain” was the most unhinged event in the game’s history, yet they still liked it. The only issue they had with it was that it had no story. They were also looking for Ella Musk, a knowledgeable character about Hilichurls.

Another player even thought that a bug in the game made them accidentally skip the quest for the event. They wondered whether there wasn’t any context at all for it.

In a reply, one explained that there is no context and would throw the players straight into it. They found it funny that the event which could use an opening quest doesn’t have one.

Meanwhile, there were those who enjoyed not having a cutscene or dialogue for these quick gameplay events. They wanted the gameplay and the rewards that they’d be getting instead.
