World War Z is free to keep on the Epic Games Store for a limited time

World War Z

World War Z is available to download and keep for free on the Epic Games Store until April 2, 2020. The game is also on sale on Xbox One with Deals with Gold for 75% off until March 30, 2020.

The latest update to World War Z adds crossplay for Xbox One-PC as well as new challenges, weapon variants, and more. Players of both platforms can play together in PvE missions and wave-based Horde Mode Z. PlayStation 4 crossplay is anticipated to arrive in the future. The latest update also includes new weapon variants with balance improvements for PvE and Horde Mode Z, unique perks, and four premium character skins available with the Season Pass or as a bundle.

The co-op shooter, from Focus Home Interactive and Saber Interactive, was inspired by the film of the same name from Paramount Pictures. The World War Z video game explores new characters and storylines from around the world in high-tension, non-stop, missions designed for modern consoles and PC. World War Z is powered by Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine.

According to the official website, the swarm of zombies is incapable of feeling fear, nor showing mercy. It exists only to consume and spread. Players and their comrades must cheat death by making a stand and unleashing an arsenal of weapons upon the swarms of undead. Against overwhelming odds, players must cut the undead down.

Players must survive against hundreds of quick, bloodthirsty zombies. Six distinct classes and an arsenal of deadly weapons, explosives, turrets, and traps are available to help players stay alive. They must survive wave after wave of the dead throughout intense four-player co-op campaign missions, and battle both zombies and real human opponents in competitive, team-based Players vs. Players vs. Zombies (PvPvZ) multiplayer mode.
