Torque Esports The Race All-Star Series aired on ESPN2

Torque Esports’ The Race All-Star Series aired live on television over the weekend, for the first time via ESPN2. The series, which aired on Saturday, April 11, 2020, featured two competitions, the first being the All-Star Cup, which pitted the world’s top sim racers against stars from Formula E, IndyCar, Formula 1, and more. The second event was the Legends Trophy, which featured Formula 1 World Champions Jenson Button, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Jacques Villeneuve, and Indy 500 winners Gil de Ferran, Juan Pablo Montoya, Helio Castroneves, Dario Franchitti, and Tony Kanaan, and more.

The Race All-Star Series is a three-race championship series. Points are awarded after each week, with the pro racing champion crowned at the end of three weeks. The pro racing champion is awarded $30,000, to be donated to their charity of choice. The top-performing sim racer will receive a full day’s test in a Formula 1 team’s simulator. The prize includes accommodation and flights to the UK. Legends racers are also in competition for their favorite charity with a weekly $10,000 prize for the winner of the opening race.

Erhan Jajovski, Former World’s Fastest Gamer finalist, took the opening round of the All-Star Cup with a win over Bono Huis and Nikodem Wisniewski.

Jenson Button, 2009 Formula 1 World Champion, won first week’s Legends Trophy event from the front of the grid to lead home two-time Indy 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya and three-time World Touring Car Champion, Andy Priaulx. Button earned a $10,000 first prize for his charity of choice, the House of Ruth, a charity that empowers women, children, and families to rebuild their lives and heal from trauma, abuse, and homelessness.
