Upcoming CRPG Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has raised over $2 million through its Kickstarter campaign. Based on Paizo’s tabletop, over 35,000 backers helped fund the campaign. It has reached more than 20 stretch goals. In celebration of the campaign’s success, Owlcat Games has announced that fans will be able to pre-order Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous at the end of the month through the official website. The closed alpha for the game will be held in April.

Oleg Shpilchevskiy, Owlcat Games’ Head of Studio, said, “I express sincere gratitude to every backer who has supported us. This Kickstarter campaign was incredibly successful, and our team is amazed by the overwhelming support of backers who share our love of Pathfinder.” He continued, “For us, it is essential to communicate with the core players from the early stages of development. We are looking forward to getting the players’ feedback during a closed alpha test in April.”

As part of the announcement, new key art has been released, showing a player’s character who followed the Lich’s path. The Mythic Lich key art released depicts the evil alternative to the default good Mythic Angel. The key art shows how alignment affects the player’s party. Alignment can determine the companions that will join the party on your quest to take back the world from demonic forces.

Kickstarter backers and those who pre-order will have access to the closed alpha test for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. They will be able to participate by selecting the alpha test from the add-ons they pledged for during the crowdfunding campaign. Those who pre-order the game may purchase the alpha access add-on when it is made available. Pre-orders will help fund the final stretch goal, adding a new Hunter class and dinosaurs as animal companions. Even though Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is real-time with pause (RTWP), it will include a turn-based mode (TBM) that will allow players an experience similar to the tabletop version.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will feature nine Mythic character types with unique abilities that will be able to affect the game’s narrative and gameplay options. Some of the Mythic character types included are the lawful Aeon, the cunning Trickster, the powerful Lich, the ravaging Demon, the benevolent Angel, the rebellious Azata, the merciful Gold Dragon, the ruthless Swarm-That-Walks and the Legend.

The game will also have a character-building system with 24 classes to choose from. In addition to the nine races from Pathfinder: Kingmaker, there will be three new races, six archetypes per class, full-scale animal companion progression, one new companion, mounted combat, and more. Three new romantic interests will be available for the player’s character.
