The world of Fortnite is about to get a little more glamorous and a lot more powerful.
Rumors are swirling that the popular battle royale game is expanding its collaboration with WWE, potentially bringing skins of superstars Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair to the game. This follows the previous inclusion of wrestling legend John Cena, who received his own Fortnite skin last year.
Highlights:
- Fortnite is rumored to be collaborating with WWE, potentially introducing skins of superstars Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair.
- WWE has dropped hints on Instagram, with photos of Lynch and Belair wielding Fortnite pickaxes.
- This follows the previous inclusion of wrestling legend John Cena, who received his own Fortnite skin last year.
The rumors started when the official WWE Instagram account posted photos of Lynch and Belair each holding a real-life Fortnite pickaxe. The posts were marked with a “Paid Partnership” flag and the “#ad” hashtag, which Instagram requires for paid advertisements. This suggests that the photos were shared as part of a marketing campaign that extends beyond WWE itself, with Fortnite appearing to be the likely partner.
Fortnite has a history of collaborating with major media organizations, including WWE. Last year, the game introduced a skin for John Cena, complete with a WWE Championship Title and the U Can’t C Me emote. The inclusion of Lynch and Belair would continue this trend, bringing more of the wrestling world into the Fortnite universe.
This isn’t the first time that Fortnite and WWE fans have heard of a potential series of new skins for the battle royale. In March, data mining indicated that a female WWE skin was referenced in Fortnite’s shop files. The skins also had associated files for a back bling and pickaxe. WWE fans guessed it could be Becky Lynch at the time. Not only will Lynch be in the game, but Bianca Belair will be added to Fortnite, too.
While an official announcement from Epic Games is still pending, the WWE’s Instagram posts suggest that the collaboration is imminent. It’s possible that there will be more WWE skins also announced, or that the partnership will extend beyond just skins. WWE fans will have to wait and see.
Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
