Counter-Strike 2 released in September 2023

Counter-Strike 2 has just launched its “Call to Arms” update, introducing a new game mode, maps, and extensive gameplay changes.

In a move that’s set to reinvigorate the Counter-Strike 2 community, the “Call to Arms” update brings a wealth of fresh content and gameplay improvements. Among the most anticipated additions is the new-look Arms Race game mode, alongside maps “Baggage” and “Shoots,” promising to challenge veterans and newcomers alike.

The update doesn’t stop there; it also rolls out the Kilowatt Case, which features 17 community-designed weapon finishes and introduces the Kukri Knife with original finishes as a rare special item.

Sticker enthusiasts have reason to celebrate too, with the introduction of the Ambush Sticker Capsule and enhanced sticker customization options. Players can now place stickers at user-specified positions and rotations on their weapons, with support for up to five stickers per weapon. This update, coupled with a zoom feature for precise sticker placement, marks a significant improvement in weapon personalization.

In terms of gameplay enhancements, the “Call to Arms” update brings a reusable Zeus in all game modes, with a 30-second recharge delay, and the ability to apply stickers and name tags to it. Smokes now cast shadows, and their rendering and animation have been improved, adding a layer of realism to the game.

The update also addresses gameplay mechanics, adding a “Refund All” button to the buy menu, and making several adjustments to ensure smoother, more balanced play. Notably, the introduction of a setting to disable first-person bullet tracers and the ability to reattach silencers at any time are a response to player feedback.

Network improvements aim to reduce peeker’s advantage, a long-standing issue in competitive play. The update achieves this by reducing the amount of peeker’s advantage and introducing new console commands and options to analyze and mitigate latency.

Finally, the update brings several map adjustments to favorites like Inferno, Ancient, Anubis, and others, focusing on improving player visibility, grenade collision, and overall playability.
