100 Thieves' Counter-Strike team

Nearly four months after tweeting about his intentions to bring 100 Thieves into the CS:GO scene, Owner and CEO Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag has finally secured a roster of players to represent the Los Angeles based esports organization.

The roster 100 Thieves have signed is stocked full of talent with Justin “jks” Savage, Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad and Jay “Liazz” Tregillgas making up most of the firepower on the team as the main riflers, with Sean “Gratisfaction” Kaiwai taking up the AWP role he played on Renegades and Aaron “AZR” Ward remaining in the in-game leader role that he has held since 2015.

In a Youtube video posted to the official 100 Thieves channel, Nadeshot said: “We want to support not only our players and this team, but we want to help to support the CS:GO ecosystem so that this game continues to have more success as it already has in the last two decades.”

Back in August, Nadeshot tweeted about his plans to fly to Berlin for the end of the Starladder Major to try and find ‘players who are hungry to build a winning legacy.’ However, things seemed to stall and with the nRg roster moving to Evil Geniuses and two-time Dota 2 International Champions OG supposedly picking up some of the top names from European free agency, it looked as though 100 Thieves would go without a team.

This would have been the second time that 100 Thieves failed to acquire a team in the CS:GO scene after they signed the Immortals roster at the end of 2017, only to drop them after just a month without playing a single game due to visa issues as well as attitude problems.

The former Renegades roster most recently finished 3rd-4th at the Starladder Berlin Major, being beaten by runners up Avangar. Other recent results include a 4th place finish at StarSeries i-league season 8 and a 7th-8th place finish at IEM Chicago.

The team’s first tournament in the 100 Thieves colors is scheduled to be IEM Beijing where they will be one of eight teams competing for a share of the $250,000 prize pool. The event takes place between the 7th-11th November.
