Tekken 8 director shuts down “delusional” racism claims over Eddy Gordo inclusion
Tekken’s famed developer Katsuhiro Harada recently faced off against allegations of racism on Twitter, delivering a response that’s got the gaming community talking.
In a recent Twitter exchange, a user accused the Tekken team of racism for not yet revealing Eddy Gordo in Tekken 8, suggesting a disregard for black characters.
The tweet stated, “The only reason why Eddy Gordo hasn’t been revealed yet is because the creators of TEKKEN are racist and don’t care about black characters.”
Harada’s comeback was swift and to the point, challenging the logic behind the accusation and highlighting the presence of black characters like Leroy and Raven in the game.
If you think you can just claim anything that way and it will pass, you are mistaken.

This isn’t Harada’s first rodeo with such conversations. Back in August, he addressed threats over Eddy Gordo’s inclusion in Tekken 8, highlighting the negative impact of such behavior on the development team’s motivation.
His stance has consistently been one of no-nonsense, directly addressing and dismantling unfounded claims and threats.
The community has rallied behind Harada, with many fans mocking the initial claims and praising his straightforward approach. Comments ranged from pointing out the presence of diverse characters in the Tekken universe to criticizing the baseless nature of the allegations.
