Team Secret beat Na’Vi 3-0 to win Gamers Without Borders charity tournament

Team Secret is the team to beat right now. In yet another flawless final series, they beat Na’Vi in a clean sweep to win the Gamers Without Borders charity tournament.

Two stomps and one close game

All three games only lasted around thirty minutes each. And for the most part, they were very one-sided. In the first game, Team Secret crushed Na’Vi 28 kills to 9. Michal “Nisha” Jankowski had an insane performance on Sniper, with 12 kills, 7 assists and only 3 deaths. He also dealt 34.1k damage, which is absurd for such a short game.

The second game was a little closer and more action-packed, with a scoreline of 30 kills to 23. Na’Vi even had the net worth and experience advantage for most of the game. But that all changed between the 23rd and 24th minute when Team Secret team-wiped them in a flawless fight. From that point onward, Team Secret had the ball in their court and never let it go. Nisha performed well again, with 8 kills, 10 assists and 2 deaths. But Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen was even better, with 10 kills, 13 assists and 4 deaths.

The third game was an absolute stomp, much like the first. Team Secret secured 28 kills while Na’Vi barely managed to scrounge up 6. Ludwig “Zai” Wahlberg was a force to be reckoned with, netting 12 kills and 6 assists with only 2 deaths. That’s about as good as it gets for an offlane performance.

GG!

That’s it! 👏 @teamsecret prove to be too strong and take Game 3 in absolutely dominant style! Wow! 👏

3-0 To Secret in the end, congratulations to them and commiserations to @natusvincere #GWBPS pic.twitter.com/aEnPyd57zS

A fun tournament for a good cause

It was only a small single-elimination charity tournament with eight teams. But it featured some of the best in the world, including Alliance, OG, Na’Vi, Ninjas In Pyjamas, Team Liquid, Team Nigma, Virtus.Pro, and of course, Team Secret. It wasn’t an official tournament, which means no DPC points were up for grabs. However, the tournament had an impressive $1,500,000 prize-pool, which is all going to charity. It’s always awesome to see the world’s best teams battle each other in a tournament. But it’s a little more special better when it’s for a good cause.

Team Secret received $750,000 for their first-place finish. And they’ve already decided which charities it will be donated to.

the team are the Gamers Without Borders 2020 Champions! 🏆

the team have decided to split the $750,000 grand prize into two separate donations:

– $375,000 to the Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance @gavi
– $375,000 to The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement @IFRC#SecretDota #GWBPS pic.twitter.com/k7f04bvgFe
